Job Description

Do you enjoy researching and writing about nutrients and herbal medicines?  We are seeking a health enthusiast to provide research support for R&D and other departments at Threshold- someone who is familiar with traditional uses of plants and can analyze and summarize the scientific research on them as well.

For this position, it's essential that the candidate enjoys writing and can create clear, concise summaries.  It's also essential that they are comfortable with spreadsheets and simple mathematical calculations.

In addition to research in support of existing products, this position will collaborate with in house and out of house resources to create unique new dietary supplement products for the Source Naturals and Planetary Herbals brands. This includes communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues in other departments and with representatives from the companies we do business with.

Employees must perform all other tasks and contribute to various on-going projects as assigned by Threshold management.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Required:

M.S. in the biological sciences, social sciences, or humanities, or B.S./B.A. with  at least 2 years experience.

Minimum of 1 year work experience or research experience - not necessarily related to the dietary supplement industry, but highly desired.

Good analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-motivated, willing to ask questions and take initiative.

Well versed in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Skills and/or Training Desired:

M.S., work experience or academic coursework in food science, nutritional science, or physiology.

Experience analyzing and summarizing research articles in the biological sciences.

Interest and experience in nutrition, natural products, dietary supplements, and/or herbal medicine.
