Job Description

Wellness center offering various modalities of care seeks CA Licensed Acupuncturist to join our excellent team of practitioners. Prefer you have at least one year's experience, though the right person will be able to work as a team with other health care providers, from physical therapists, chiropractic, massage, nutritionist, and therapeutic exercise. We are dedicated to providing excellent client care and expect providers to be dedicated to their craft, on a path of life long learning and continuing education.

A working knowledge of nutrition, vegetarian/vegan nutrition also a plus, since this community has a lot of people with those restrictions. We have a budding nutrition counseling business also, and could add to the income of the right person who could combine both acupuncture and nutritional counseling.

Willing to work with management to build the acupuncture business as necessary, do community outreach and special events. This position is part-time to begin, with a willingness to work full-time as the business grows. Strong interest in pain management, sports medicine, women's health a plus, and knowledge of facial acupuncture needed. We are a committed to providing excellent acupuncture services and are seeking an enthusiastic partner in doing so.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements for the job of an acupuncturist: A successful candidate must be a doctor of medicine or a chiropractor. In other locations, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in physiology, anatomy or other medical related fields and must have a master’s degree of acupuncture at any accredited post-graduate schools listed on the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Must:
-have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
-Be able to develop strong and mature repoire with multiple referral sources to bring in clients
-Be able to render clear and concise opinion and explanation of patient status and progress.

Short Description

Specific work elements of the job as an acupuncturist include but are not limited to: reviewing patient’s medical history and physical findings; administering specific therapeutic treatments of health problems; selecting needles length and method of acupuncture (whether by machine or hand) depending on the location of insertion and health problem; utilizing knowledge of acupuncture points; and instructing patients on ways to prevent reoccurrence of symptoms or disorder.
