Job Description

Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) is seeking a qualified individual to teach two sections of Behavioral Health: Assessment and Case Management, a two-credit course that meets for two hours per week in Fall 2017.

Students in this course are in their final year of the master’s program and treating patients in our internship clinic. This course seeks to provide students with the clinical tools to effectively assess and manage behavioral health cases that present in a Chinese medicine clinical setting. Students will learn basic case management skills and best practices for assessing and professionally documenting patient complaints of depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, personality disorders, PTSD, alcohol and drug addiction, and associated features of these disorders such as domestic violence. In addition, students will learn when to refer patients to other providers for evaluation and treatment, and acquire the basic knowledge and skills to co-manage complex behavioral health cases as part of a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:
Master’s or doctoral level degree in clinical psychology, psychiatry or social work (MD, PhD, MSW); LCSW with significant clinical experience will be considered
Ideal candidate is a licensed acupuncturist with one of the above degrees
CADC level II or higher certification helpful
A minimum of two years’ clinical experience with no sanctions against license essential; five or more years clinical experience preferred
