JOON KIM L.Ac.

Joon “JB” Kim, L.Ac. has been working at Lokahi since June, 2021. He is a California State Board Licensed Acupuncturist and a Nationally Certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and has been practicing since 2013.

JB specializes in sports medicine, pain management, digestive health, allergies, and internal medicine with the application of Chinese herbal medicine.

From a very young age, JB was influenced by Chinese medicine by his father, an acupuncturist and Doctor of Oriental Medicine. However, his passion for Chinese Medicine didn’t fully develop until later on in life after facing several health challenges of his own. With the help of his father through Chinese Medicine, JB’s condition was successfully treated. Realizing the power and efficacy of this natural holistic medicine coupled with a desire to help others achieve a better quality of life, JB decided to pursue a path in Chinese Medicine.

JB holds a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University where he specialized in Integrative Sports Medicine and later assisted competitive and pro athletes to enhance performance and recover. During school, he completed an externship at the renowned China Medical University Hospital in Taiwan where he gained valuable knowledge in treating various conditions from strokes to orthopedic trauma.
